1972 Kentucky Derby Riva Ridge

This photograph shows Riva Ridge with Hall of Fame rider Ron Turcotte aboard, cruising to win the 1972 Kentucky Derby at historic Churchill Downs. The “Run For The Roses” is considered America’s premier horse race, always drawing crowds in excess of 100,000. This horse race has earned the nickname of being the “Fastest Two Minutes In Sports”.
